Finishing Prophecies on my warrior and got into a pretty terribad-fail-group at Hell's Precipice. It was myself, a monk, a ranger, a necromancer, and another warrior. The monk was returning from a very long break (2 years I believe) which was all good. A nice person and they asked for help in navigating through the mission, and I like to think of myself as a helpful person so I didn't diss them ("LOL NOOB LERN2PLAY FASTER").
Anyway, the Necromancer was obviously a newbie. One of those 4-minion-skills-plus-Fire-Storm-and-no-points-into-Soul-Reaping newbies. We tried to help them get their skills together for about 5 minutes, it was turning out to be one of those really nice groups that doesn't mind helping each other and taking things slowly.
The ranger and the other warrior seemed like mediocre players, but not newbie or awful (at first).
Then the $$$$ hits the fan. We wipe before we even get to the Seer for the bonus (many deaths before that). I'm thinking it's okay, since there's newbies in the group. It's obviously the monk's fault (who also brought their monk hero) since we're dying every step of the way. The monk brought Rebirth along and continued to ping MY ENERGY IS 1 OF 35 (Also, at first they used Shield of Regeneration and then they switched to Healer's Boon the second try). Right as we begin to wipe on the first attempt, the monk says "No offense u guys but the damage sucks". <_<
Then, on the second try, things are going better! We got past the Seer and into that little patch of Hell where there's about 5 groups you have to either pull or just slam into all at once and hope to live.
The monk runs into a group. -_- Whatever.
So we're fighting and all of a sudden I see the ranger shooting a Titan that's running into a group of Sparks...with his pet following the Titan. Great, now we have two groups of Titans, a group of sparks, and a boss on our arse.
I run to the sparks (I'm a WARRIOR) and ping them to get the group's attention. Of course we wipe. When we get back to town, the Ranger suddenly goes "Wait why were we pulling the group of sparks?" And I said NICELY "Your pet aggro'd them, it was following the Titan you were attacking". Suddenly the Ranger rages "YOU were the one OVER THERE. I was no where NEAR THE SPARKS!!!1! NOOB! /leavesparty"
o_O Of course I was OVER THERE NEAR THE SPARKS. It'd be great if I could throw my axe, but it'd also be great if Rangers kept an eye on their aggro-monsters (pets). A girl can dream, yeah?
Just one of the best fail groups I've been in lately.

^ very few rangers can master the difficulties of being a pet ranger.
And from your description, he wasn't even trying. Sounds like he was trying to run a bow bar and brought a pet for "OMG I CAN HAVE A PET!!! IT'S GONNA BE LIKE 2 PEOPLE ATTACKING AT ONCE!!!" and he didn't even have any skills for it.

Absolutely the case. I don't think he even knew that pets have an aggressive/defensive/passive setting. <_< He even said "My pet was near me the whole time." Either he's an idiot, a liar, or just doesn't want to admit that he doesn't know what he's doing.

That reminds me of a group i did Ring of Fire with. We had a R/A in the group and when he pinged his build it contained 4 bow attacks and 4 dagger attacks. I asked him to change it and switch to a full ranger build and he refused. He said he uses his bow to attack enemies, but if they get too close to him, he just whips out his daggers to finish them.
I wasn't the party leader and no one else in the group objected to his build. We actually finished the mission with no trouble and went on to complete Abaddon's Mouth. I can only assume the others in the group were able to compensate for the bad build.

errr... you don't use rebirth in the middle of a fight. And you use a low energy weapon set. And if you have GoLE (as one might... ), you can do three-four in a row fairly quick. It's a safety, basically. It's a pain to have to restart a dungeon run / mission because of one bad aggro.
I don't get the hate for rebirth in PVE. Saved me countless wipes, in pugs and even in guild runs.

While in kamadan someone was spamming would anyone like to donate to xxxx's(character name) armor fund. This went on for a while with people getting annoyed. After a while the person said I was just kidding I was just trying to get 100k so I can start power trading.

The main reason it gets hate is because the only upside it has is the teleport feature. It's basically a res you use when you expect (nearly) your entire party to wipe. For every other scenario, you'll be better off with others, such as Death Pact Signet, Unyielding Aura (which is better in every scenario regardless), or even Res Sig / SS Rebirth Sig.

I have to agree. Rebirth is one of my favorite skills for missions/Elite areas where a wipe means starting over. I don't think the monk on the team should have rebirth however. I think UA or a full healing bar with no rez is a better choice, but my Ele usually brings it along when I'm pugging Elite areas.
It's not a battle rez and anyone attempting to use it in the middle of a fight is an idiot. It's one of those "this isn't going too well and i'm running like heck" rezzes. If 1 person gets outta there and is the only one alive after a disaster, I really hope they have rebirth on their bar. There is no good substitute for UA/Rebirth when the enemy is camped on top of most of your bodies and 1 survivor needs to save everyone. (And the Elite slot shouldn't be wasted on UA for non-monks)

Agreed. I usually only bring Rebirth when I'm doing missions where I can run away to rez. But the monk I was referring to was using it as a battle rez. -_- Hence his 1 energy of 35 constantly (not to mention, 35 energy isn't really brag worthy either).

Well I've seen worse builds be effective...maybe that warrior is just the leader of the new revolution of guild wars players. They will go against the meta and do the best the can.
Like my R/Mo healer that can go 15 flawless in a row in RA...
but most likely that RoJ warrior doesn't have the mentality to make a proper RoJwar...in which case he should be laughed at.
